As a performer, educator, and human being, I am incredibly fortunate to have built relationships with wonderful people and institutions over time.

I am fortunate to perform regularly with the great musicians in Ensemble Dal Niente, and am always excited to perform on occasion with the Madison Symphony, Third Coast Percussion, and many other good friends. From 2001-2016, I enjoyed building a legacy of adventurous repertoire for flute and percussion duo with Erin Lesser as Due East.

As a percussionist, I am very happy to work with the Pearl/Adams, Evans, Innovative Percussion, and the Sabian companies who work hard to deliver consistent quality in their instruments and implements.

Sabian Crescent Cymbals

I've been using Crescent Cymbals for well over a decade. For small group jazz or chamber music, they are wonderful, mellow, and rich. Sabian purchased Crescent and officially began offering Crescent Cymbals under their mark in June 2016. Now I have the pleasure of working with two of the biggest names in artisan cymbals that have joined forces to produce the best of Old World craftsmanship in North America.

    Dal Niente

Ensemble Dal Niente is a Chicago-based contemporary music collective that presents and performs new music in ways that redefine the listening experience and advance the art form.

      Due East

The duo has performed in China, Brazil, Europe, Canada and the USA at venues such as the Beijing Modern Music Festival, the Warsaw Crossdrumming Festival, the Banff Centre for the Arts and the SEAMUS conference. DUE EAST has given multiple performances at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention and won first prize in the 2008 National Flute Association Chamber Music Competition.

The School of Music's 60 nationally and internationally recognized faculty are dedicated to supporting students realizing their full potential as music artists and scholars, and our location one hour west of Chicago affords our students unparalleled additional cultural resources.

Evans Drumheads has been in the music industry for more than 40 years, and those six words best describe the history and vision of the company. Decades ago, Evans was the pioneer of drumhead manufacturing and design. Today, we are the innovators.

André Adams, our founder, started repairing brass instruments in 1970. Music was his hobby, and engineering was his passion. After gaining experience as an instrument maker with various well-known firms throughout Europe, his unique background led to the emergence of one of the world’s largest manufacturers of percussion- and brass instruments.

              Innovative Percussion

An undergraduate student at Middle Tennessee State University, Erik T. Johnson starts making his own personal mallets purely to achieve his desired sound and reduce expenses for studies.  Also receives requests from friends for rewrap mallets.
