DESCRIPTION:The entire Arcomusical sextet (Gregory Beyer\, Ethan Martin\, Raychel Taylor\, Noel Streacker\, Matt Schneider\, and Elena Ross) is excited to be a part of this wonderful new summer music series at the DeKalb County History Center! Running in conjunction with the Sycamore Farmer’s Market\, the “Crib Notes” series will take place in a new outdoor stage area on the DCHC’s campus. We will be performing three sets of music from 3-6PM\, and we’ll feature music from solos to sextets! Come join us for the final week of this year’s outdoor market and some great music!

DESCRIPTION:Fresh off our first touring performances in Washington\, D.C. and New York City\, the Grossman Ensemble returns to its home at the UChicago Center for Contemporary Composition to open the 26/27 season with “Poetic Inspirations\,” a chamber music potpourri of commissioned works for small ensembles drawing inspiration from the evocative imagery of the written word\, visual art\, the natural world\, and more. Composers Alexandre Lunsqui\, Ana Lara\, Jonathan Bailey Holland\, Leah Reid\, Juri Seo\, Pierce Gradone\, and Zoë Martlew all receive world premieres. \nStudent tickets are always free. Standard tickets are $25.

DESCRIPTION:The NIU New Music Festival celebrates its fourteenth edition with two evenings of music October 26-27\, 2026. This year’s festival will feature three special guests: Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Melinda Wagner (The Juilliard School)\, flutist Emma Hospelhorn (Ensemble Dal Niente)\, and composer David Clay Mettens (University of South Carolina). The festival boasts two world premieres:\nGregory Beyer perfmring Melinda Wagner’s “The Witness Tree” for solo marimba\, and Gregory Beyer and Emma Hospelhorn perform a new work by Clay Mettens’. The festival will also occasion six more premieres by NIU student composers\, performed by the NIU New Music Ensemble
