DESCRIPTION:At IMEC 2022\, led by NIU Professors Gregory Beyer and Eric Johnson\, the NIU Chamber Choir\, accompanied by members of the percussion\, guitar\, bass\, and flute studios\, will present and perform Ariel Ramirez’s classic post-Second Vatican mass setting\, “Misa Criolla\,” discussing the history of its recordings\, its incorporation of traditional musical instruments and styles from Afro-Argentinean and native Bolivian cultures\, and presenting an updated score for the accompaniment instruments in order to appreciate\, understand\, and bring to life the work in its full richness and detail. \nConference Registration is required for ticket information. \n
